Vibes Amy Kathleen Ryan Books

When I look back on my days in high school, I can remember that I always thought that the girls had it so easy. They always seemed to be so cool and confident, as opposed to those of us males, who were insecure and scared to death over the prospects of dealing with the opposite sex. It wasn't until my own daughter was in high school that I realized all of the problems facing females.

This book does a good job of exposing the issues of confidence (or lack of it), self esteem and misunderstandings between and within the sexes. It is written from a female point of view, so I doubt many male high school readers will be reading this, but I do think this is a valuable, as well as fun, read for teen females between about the grades of 7 to 10. It will certainly entertain, as well as allow them to realize that many of the feelings they are having are valid and common to all teens.

(If your wondering why a middle aged male is reading this book, relax...I'm reviewing books to be purchased for the opening of a new high school)

I love this book so much, like my god fricking Kristi is my spirit animal! I highly recommend this book to anyone! Seriously read it!
This was one of my favorite books! I felt like I went through Kristis ups and downs!! An amazing read!
Dude, this book was da bomb it had everything you could ask for an insecure teenager, a school hottie, accidents, deformities, illnesses, betrayals, and best of all romance. This is the book to read
I loved this book in high school. It's easy to relate to, and love the author.
The book wasn't well written, but it was extremely funny and entertaining. I was laughing the whole time, especially at the end. I recommend that you buy it.
I picked up Vibes because I was in the mood for a quick, light read. I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only was it fun it had some keen insights to offer. Much of the teen angst was not only believable it was familiar. Acne, body issues, believing you can tell what someone else is thinking, divorce, avoidance, secrets as well as thinking most adults are clueless... yes, this is a reflection of how many teens experience the world. Kristi does her best to drown out everyone and everything yet she can't help take it all in. While overwhelming at times she manages to learn from her mistakes and move on. You can't help but cheer her on.

Overall I found Vibes an enjoyable read with well-developed characters and a tidy yet not predictable ending.
