I read this book in two days of here and there reading. The book was very easy to read because the storylines were easy to follow. The problem, and I will explain it with an image is, this---

Imagine you are given a dinner plate, on the plate is the following:

1. A spoon full of rice
2. A spoon full of macaroni and cheese
3. A spoon full of chicken
and
4. A spoon full of green beans.

Your immediate response after eating the spoon full of each item is: "where is the rest of the food?" Well, after reading this book, you will ask: "Where is the rest of the book?"

The author wrote this book intentionally as a part one and left glaring holes in the storyline such that this book could not stand on his own.

This was my first book by the author and my last. If he wants to go the sequel route, the preceding book has to have enough depth to stand on its own. As it stands, this book should have been expanded.

I also will not read any other books by the author because his characters lack any form of development and the writing is bad. My book was full of grammatical errors.

The book just ENDED. It was as if the author became tired of writing and just STOPPED.
Man, there's so many characters to figure out. The storyline is interesting, fast-paced and I'm waiting on the sequel.
This book was okay. There was alot of drama and alot of characters which at times became confusing. I hope the sequel is written a little better. I am curious to find out what happened to some of the characters.
Thought that this would be an intriguing read. What I got was confused. Charaters were not properly introduced, storylines were all over the place. Feel that instead of two books, he should have combined them. The part that I really enjoyed were the sermons and the Bible references. I will definitely not be buying the sequel.
I have respect for what the author is trying to do but there are far too many characters and plots to make this book any good. He did not develop one character fully and some appear for no reason and do ever re-appear. It was difficult to follow and although it is fiction it was just outlandishly over the top. Don't even waste your time.
Drama in the Church, drama outside of the Church..."I got a feeling my husband is cheating on me"....."Who is his baby daddy really??"..."I dont care that ur married..I love U!!" "Kill him or else!!" This read is full of lies, deceit, scandals, murder, blackmail and adultery. It's like a str8 up soap opera and it all revolves around the CHURCH.
On the flip side it has a message of inspirational of ones belief and strength in God.
I rate this read 3.5 Stars...looking forward 2 reading part 2.
This book was definitely a page turner from start to finish. I couldn't put it down. Like a great soap opera, I found myself eagerly awaiting the chance to pick it up and "tune in" for more. Guitard did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life in Delilah's Revenge. Just when I thought I had it figured out, there's a surprise twist to the story that intensified the drama.

In this book, Guitard demonstrates a special ability to both entertain and candidly address the often complicated dynamics we all face regarding relationships and faith. As an avid reader of African American Christian fiction, it's refreshing to see an author integrate "real life" circumstances into the text without sugar coating or watering down God's word.

Throughout the book, there were numerous passages that ministered to me personally and prompted me to shout, pray, or simply utter a "Thank you Jesus." On more than one occasion I caught myself talking back to the characters and story lines!

I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more from this author.
